Meerut: A recent case from Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, has left everyone shocked and questioning medical ethics as doctors remove woman's kidney without permission including prescribing wrong medicines to cover their heinous act.

In a shocking revelation, KMC Hospital and Research Center in Meerut has been accused of illegally removing the kidney of a woman from Bulandshahr during an operation in 2017. The matter came to light five years later during a medical examination. On the orders of the court, the Narsena police in Bulandshahr have filed an FIR against six doctors and hospital staff, and investigations are underway.

The victim, Kavita, alleged that when she raised concerns, she was threatened, beaten, and her medical documents were forcibly taken away by the accused.

Kavita, a resident of Bugrasi, Bulandshahr, sought treatment at KMC Hospital in May 2017 for an illness. Following an examination, Dr. Sunil Gupta recommended surgery, which was performed on May 20, 2017. She was discharged on May 24, assured that her health would improve.

However, five years later, in October 2022, Kavita experienced worsening health and sought a second opinion. An ultrasound revealed that her left kidney had been removed during the 2017 surgery, without her consent. Shocked by the discovery, Kavita accused Dr. Sunil Gupta and others of involvement in illegal organ trafficking.

Despite the removal, the hospital had continued to provide her with fake reports showing both kidneys intact and prescribed medicines that worsened her condition.

Past Allegations Against KMC Hospital

This is not the first time KMC Hospital has faced serious allegations. Over the years, the hospital and its doctors have encountered multiple allegations:

  1. 2015: Negligence Lead to Death
A patient undergoing surgery at KMC Hospital died due to alleged negligence during the procedure. The family accused Dr. Sunil Gupta and his team of failing to provide adequate care.

  2. 2018: False Medical Certificates for Insurance Claims
Dr. Pratibha Gupta was accused of issuing fake medical certificates to patients for insurance claims. An investigation revealed dispaity in several records, although no arrests were made at the time.

  3. 2020: Allegations of Overcharging During COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, KMC Hospital was accused of overcharging patients for oxygen cylinders, PPE kits, and treatment. Several families reported being forced to pay extra amounts, leading to widespread criticism.

  4. 2021: Not giving proper care to a Pregnant Woman Resulting in Death of new born
In another controversial case, the hospital was accused of mishandling a pregnant woman’s treatment, leading to the death of her newborn. The family claimed negligence and lack of expertise during delivery.
