MUMBAI: NCB's Mumbai Zonal Unit conducts an extraordinary operation, arrests four people based on intelligence inputs, and seizes illegal goods worth Rs 200 crore.
The Center congratulated NCB for this successful campaign. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a drug-free India was created to seize these illegal products.
After 2025 seizures of 200 grams of cocaine, the Mumbai team collectively succeeded in conducting this operation again.
Officials said, "On a tip-off from sources, the NCB conducted a raid and managed to reach the source of the smugglers and recovered 11.540 kg of high-quality cocaine, 4.9 kg of hybrid strain weed/marijuana, and 200 packets (5.5 kg) of ganja gummy and recovered Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand from Nabi Mumbai.”
All these items were supposed to be sent to Australia in a parcel last month.
Investigations so far have revealed that the syndicate is being run by a group of people abroad and that all the seized drugs were brought to Mumbai from the US. They were then sent by courier or small cargo services to multiple receivers in India and abroad. The men involved in the case used each other's pseudonyms for everyday conversations about the drug trade.
Officials said, "Four people have been arrested in this case so far, and an investigation is going on to trace back and forward this drug syndicate.".
