The Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj recently witnessed an impressive blend of spirituality and star power, with figures like Chris Martin and Remo D'Souza taking a dip in the holy waters. The event reached new heights as Prime Minister Narendra Modi also joined the gathering, adding to its significance.
Dressed in a saffron-colored jacket, blue track pants, and a rudraksha chain, PM Modi immersed himself in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam on Wednesday, offering prayers to Goddess Ganga. His participation was part of the massive crowd, with around 55 lakh pilgrims also taking part in the holy dip by noon.
PM Modi's visit lasted about two hours, during which pilgrims were allowed to take their dip at various temporary ghats, even as the Prime Minister bathed at the Sangam. Following the ritual, he joined in the 'aarti' ceremony aboard a specially constructed float in the river. After completing his spiritual rites, the Prime Minister is set to address a gathering of saints from multiple akharas, where he will discuss the nation's progress and the importance of nation-building.
He tweeted on X saying-‘Blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Snan at the Sangam is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion.
May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health and harmony’
