U.S. Vice President JD Vance took to X (formerly Twitter) to lash out at demonstrators he accused of following and shouting at his young daughter during a political protest.

“Anyone who chases kids at a political demonstration is a s**t person,” Vance wrote, slamming the protesters, whom he identified as members of the pro-Ukraine group “Slava Ukraini.” Vance claimed that while taking a walk with his three-year-old daughter, the demonstrators trailed them, causing her to grow anxious.

He said he attempted to engage them in a conversation, hoping they would leave the child alone.“The conversation was mostly respectful,” Vance noted, but he criticized certain protesters for targeting a toddler during their demonstration.

A video of the encounter, obtained by WCPO News, shows protesters confronting Vance over U.S. policy on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. One woman is heard shouting, “People are DYING!” while another accuses Vance of “selling out” Ukraine.

“With respect, ma’am, I disagree,” Vance responded, insisting that the U.S. was “actually forcing a diplomatic settlement” rather than escalating the conflict. The heated protest comes just days after Vance’s tense Oval Office exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the February 28 meeting, Vance directly challenged Zelensky’s plea for more U.S. assistance, warning that funding could be cut if Ukraine rejected Washington’s proposed terms.
