Bhiwandi: A 22-year-old girl from Bhiwandi was brought here on Friday after sending a message from her brother's mobile phone. There, the girl's ex-boyfriend and five of his friends gang-raped her.

In the wake of this incident, the police informed that the accused had a previous relationship with the woman. But this relationship broke up four months ago.

 An ex-boyfriend acts like this to take revenge on his girlfriend for going on a relationship with someone else.

According to the police, around 1.15 pm on Friday, the girl saw 15 missed calls from her brother on her phone. On calling his brother, he asked him to come to an appointed place and said that he had fever. Where her ex-boyfriend and his friends were waiting with his brother.

The girl immediately reached the spot in a rickshaw. The accused then beat up the girl's brother and the rickshaw puller.

When the woman reached the place, the girl's ex-boyfriend and his friends forced the girl into a bush and raped her there. Then they left the girl on the side of the road and ran away.

The victim is now hospitalized, and the incident is being investigated by Shanti Nagar police in Bhiwandi. Police have already arrested two of the six accused and are looking for the remaining accomplices.

It has been informed by the police that the main accused in this case has a criminal past. Several criminal cases have been filed against him in Bhiwandi.

Bhiwandi taluk police station senior police inspector Vinayak Gaikwad confirmed to HT that six of the accused men raped the woman.

Based on the woman's statement, a case was registered against the 6 offenders under sections 64(2)(D) (rape), 70(1) (rape), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), and 3(5) (commitment by several persons with common motive) of the Indian Penal Code.

Police said the age of the accused is estimated to be between 20 and 25 years.
