The consumer protection authority has issued notices to cab companies and Uber for price differences in similar cab bookings on Android and iPhone.

Minister Prahlad Joshi made a post on his X handle and said "Ola and uber fares are changing a lot depending on the different mobile models used (Android/iphone). A notice to Ola and Uber by the Department of Consumer Affairs through CCPA regarding the same. said"

If you book ola uber from Android phone to go to a place, the same fare shown, if you book from iPhone to go to the same place, it shows twice the fare. Multiple customers have complained by posting this discriminatory video in many places.

"We do not differentiate fares based on users' cellphones for different rides," Ola Consumer said.
