Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art sports complex in Ahmedabad, located near the Science City side of the CIMS Railway overbridge in the Gota Ward, North-West Zone. Built by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at a cost of Rs 3.50 crore, the facility promises to enhance the city's sports infrastructure significantly.

The sports complex is equipped for various activities such as table tennis, boxing, cricket, basketball, pickleball, and volleyball, along with indoor games like snooker, chess, ludo, and carrom. This addition aligns with India's aspirations to host the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad, complementing existing sports infrastructure like the Sabarmati Sports Complex at the riverfront.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Home and Sports Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who accompanied Shah on a tour of the facility. The dignitaries were also briefed on the upcoming Iconic Road project, stretching from ISKCON to Pakwan, an ambitious initiative by the AMC. The inauguration of this sports complex and the numerous welfare initiatives reflects the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and public amenities in Ahmedabad, setting the stage for a brighter, more prosperous future for the city and its citizens.
