Mainpuri : Police arrested a woman and her boyfriend for allegedly killing her husband in Mainpuri. During police interrogation, the accused said that on Sunday the woman (Amna) mixed sleeping pills with her husband's (Mohammed Sajid) food, after which the husband fainted. At that time, the woman's boyfriend (Sumit) killed the husband by hitting him with an iron range. The body was taken to the field and set on fire to destroy all evidence.
Based on the complaint of the deceased's father, the police started an investigation and recovered a partially burnt body from the spot.
Confirming the arrest, Superintendent of Police Ganesh Prasad Saha said the whole incident came to light when the deceased's father filed a complaint with the police station on Monday.
The complainant informed the police that his son, Mohammad Sajid, was murdered by both Baisthwa Bhola Yadav and his son. Then they set fire to Sajid's body to destroy the evidence.
In 2022, Amna filed an FIR against Yadav and his sons alleging gang rape. However, at that time, the police filed a final report in court accusing the complainants of lying.
Dissatisfied with the outcome of the court, we again applied for a report to the court through her husband at the end of that month. The matter is still pending, with the next hearing scheduled for February 20, 2025.
The ACP said, "We were unhappy with her husband as she felt that her husband was unwilling to pursue the plea in court," and the police believe Sajid's killing was a result of tension over the matter.
After Sajid's death, an FIR was filed, and the police started investigating. After analyzing Sajeed's and your call data, the police arrested Sumit.
During the investigation, the police also came to know that you had a relationship with Sumit, a resident of Bichwan. During police interrogation, Sumit himself admitted that she had planned Sajid's murder with him.
It is alleged that on the night of February 16, he mixed her husband's food and wanted sleeping pills. Sajeed fainted after eating the tea and food mixed with sleeping pills. Sumit then hits him on the head with an iron rod, and Sajid dies. The two then took the body to a field and set it on fire to destroy evidence. Sumit himself told all these incidents to the police.
Sumit also told the police that his relationship with Aman and the ongoing legal battle with Bhola Yadav were behind his decision to kill Sajid.
